Poor Olly - No toys...only a xxxx box!!!! Simon Happy!!!!

Kings Canyon - We stayed at the Kings Canyon Resort

Kings Canyon was absolutely beautiful...we loved our campsite, we had amazing veiws from our caravans.

Great photos from the chopper!

Another nice easy walk that we can do with Oliver!

Loves his rock climbing!

Olivers 2nd Mummy....Meg has been amazing with Olly!

The Olgas - Walpa Gorge

Walpa Gorge walk through the glorious Olgas!

For the more adventurous there is a walk through another part of the Olgas called the 'Walk of the Winds', which also looked great, but of course, we are limited to the terrain on which we can take Oliver.

It was a bit windy for our little man!

We carried Olly on this walk.

Still in Love??!!......Yes x x x x

Ayres Rock - to climb or not to climb!

The amazing rock - Uluru! .....It is a request that you do not climb the rock. Simon, Grandpa, Jake and Meg, however, all embarked on the big climb! ......and then later in the day, they did a sunset helicopter flight...just magical photos.

Olly wants to climb too....

Meg was not so sure about this part...the chains was quite scary!!

Yeah...we did it!!!

Jakey....not on the rock!!!!

Simon is fantastic on this camera.....SPECTACULAR shot from the helicopter!

Alice Springs

I cant believe how much Alice Springs has changed....I was last here when I was 19 years old. There has been so much growth in the infrastructure.

We stayed in the McDonnell's Range Big 4 caravan Park. Nice and grassy, very clean.

First on the to-do list:  Into town to see a Didgeridoo Show....Meg loved it! She seems to have quite  a talent for playing the Didgeridoo. Meg bought one with her money that she won at the fishing comp. in King Ash Bay......Go Meggy!

Next: Quad Biking below the McDonnell Ranges on a working cattle station.

Then: Bush tucker Tour around an Aboriginal Community. We tried a variety of seeds and bush coconuts. The main delicacy of the Aboriginals out here is the Kangaroo Tail! Not for all of us but the kids loved it! Next on the menu was a witchety grub....only 1 was brave enough...Meggy!!!
After that we tried our hand at boomerang throwing...heaps of fun!

Kangaroo Tail

Yummy Kangaroo!!
Not sure about this Boomerang throwing???!!!
The tour ended with a lovely cup of tea and some damper....now that was yummy!

Finally: Desert Park

WOW...This is a show to see!....They run a 'Bird Of Prey' show and it is spectacular...I thought these birds were remote controlled!!!....the rest of the park is full of interesting facts about native plant life and great stories from local aboriginals...this is told via headphones as you walk around the park.

P.S.    We didnt do all this in one day....we did spread it over 4 days.....not that energetic!!!!

Simon extremely happy to share this photo!
He is very proud of the state of our van, still showing the signs of the
 'Old Savannah' ....Nice and Dusty!!!

I can't believe how many termite mounds you find out here!!
....and they are huge!!

Mataranka

Mataranka is a great spot! We stayed in a lovely campground-'Territory Manor' grassy, shady sites. Barramundi Feeding in their exquisite lagoon covered with flowering water lillies. Freshly baked scones daily with jam and cream.....Yummy...We were there daily!!!!

We visited 2 hot springs whilst there......Bitter springs and Mataranka Springs...both beautiful and different from each other.  The pics speak for themselves!

Bitter Springs

Jake doing a bomb dive!

The kids have the foam noodles because there is a current that takes you downstream
amongst the rockery and overhanging follage......very relaxing....paradise!

These are the Mataranka Springs and you can see from all the dead follage at the base of the trees how flooding has affected this area.
